Who wants to be a dad?
go to work all day and eat crap and come home and get yelled at
rather spend my time at the track
mess around with my shit out back
who needs another lifeform?
haunting in your scaffold
astral spirits
in your basement
sent a message
I once was a dad
I drove to work each day and ate crap
then I died of a heart attack
you can find my corpse out back
but my soul's playin' catch
who needs another lifeform?
I'd build you a scaffold
I could raise your kids
ecto-plasmic
well things went bad
Made a good ghost dad
all dressed in red
scaring the neighborhood kids
human my lifeform
I'd build you a scaffold
a loving
apparition
who needs a lifeform
Opener absolutely rips. Falls into the ranks of tracks like “Dance” by ESG, “Eisbaer” by Grauzone, “Damaged Goods” by Gang of Four or like the album description says Kleenex. This is some really good stuff. Favorite song is the opener but dedicate “Blue” to my friend Blue who lost her life at 22, she would have loved this album. TheBloodofChrist
Dirtbag Transformation: "What is this?" was my first reaction. But what an amazing song. It reminds me a bit of the Pixies in how it pulls together dissonance and then resolves. malfunction54
"Flower Of Life" yanks riot grrrl south through the unmistakable garage psych sound indispensable to the last 20-odd years of rock music out of Los Angeles. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 2, 2023
Melodic alt-pop in the vein of Soccer Mommy is driven by winding guitar lines and augmented with dreamy shoegaze elements. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 14, 2021
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
